We would rather measure than guess. Four things set the figure: how much floor you have, whether the bath, basin and toilet stay on the existing pipework, the sanitaryware and shower you choose, and whether the walls end up tiled or panelled. A Camelon or Bainsford semi that keeps its layout costs a good deal less than an Arnothill villa or a Polmont new-build with a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath. Tired copper or a soft floor under the bath can add to it as well, and you hear about that before we start. The home visit and the quote cost nothing and commit you to nothing. Finance is available from £22 a week, subject to status.
Most Falkirk bathrooms take 3 to 6 days. The day-by-day timetable is written down before the old suite comes out, and the crew works to it. If it is the only bathroom in the house we order the strip-out and first fix so you always have a working toilet overnight.
Yes, it is the most common job we do in Camelon, Bainsford, Langlees and Hallglen. The upstairs bathrooms are small, so the bath usually comes out, a low-profile tray or level wet floor goes in, and wall panels replace tiles to keep the room feeling bigger. Where there is a separate WC next door we can knock the two into one.
Rarely for internal work. A new bathroom inside a Bo'ness or Airth property does not normally need consent unless original features are altered. Where a new extractor vent or soil pipe has to go through an outside wall on a listed building we check with Falkirk Council first and keep it discreet.
Plenty of Larbert, Polmont and Maddiston owners do. Developer bathrooms are small, white and basic, with weak extraction. We re-plan the room, upgrade the ventilation and fit the finishes you would have chosen yourself, usually in under a week because the pipework is modern.
