Great experience from start to finish. We have just had our bathroom completely refurbished. The overall finish is excellent and Hayden the fitter always paid particular attention to detail. The job took five days as promised and all the rubbish was collected within two days of completion. The work was inspected the following week but I had nothing to report. We price it once we have stood in the room, because that is the only honest way to do it. Floor area, whether the layout moves, the suite and shower you like and the wall finish you choose between them account for most of the figure. A bathroom in a Dalneigh or Hilton house is a different job from a large room in a Crown villa or a Lochardil bungalow fitted with a freestanding bath alongside a walk-in shower. If the floor or the pipework needs work, we tell you at the visit rather than later. The quote is free, there is no obligation, and finance is available from £22 a week, subject to status.
Most are done in 3 to 6 days. Ahead of the start, your designer sets out what is planned for each day. When the house has a single bathroom, the fitters sequence the job so a working toilet is there for you every night.
Yes. The stone villas and terraces of Crown, and the older houses along the riverside, have solid walls that cannot simply be chased out for pipes. We run pipework in tidy boxing or behind a lined wall, drill cleanly for the extractor, and level old timber floors before anything is fitted. Crown and the riverside are conservation areas, so if a new vent would show on the street side we suggest a word with Highland Council beforehand.
Many owners find it is. Houses across Milton of Leys, Slackbuie, Inshes and Culduthel were often handed over with a basic white suite, thin tiling and a small shower enclosure. The pipework is modern, which keeps the job simple: a bigger shower, a vanity unit with drawers and a stronger extractor fan usually transform the room without moving the soil pipe.
Yes, it is one of the jobs we do most. The bungalows of Lochardil and Drakies suit a level or low-step shower well, because everything is already on one floor. The bath is removed, a slim tray or a fully level floor goes in with a glass screen, and a seat and grab rails can be added now or later. The designer confirms the fall to the waste before you commit.
That is checked at the visit, not guessed. Older Inverness homes in Dalneigh and Merkinch may still have a loft tank and hot water cylinder, which means lower pressure, while newer houses in Culloden and Westhill tend to run at mains pressure. If your home outside the city uses a private water supply, tell the designer. The flow is measured and the shower is matched to it, with a pump suggested where one would help.
Everything you need to choose from arrives with the designer. Wall panel and tile samples, tap finishes and the suite brochures are brought into your Inverness home, so colours can be compared with your own flooring and daylight. We supply baths, basins, toilets and showers by Roca, Grohe, Hansgrohe and Lakes. If a suite is already sitting in your garage, we will fit that one and charge the same for labour.
