The room decides it, not a headline number. A shower room in a Giffnock semi that keeps its existing pipe runs is at the lower end of the work we do. A large main bathroom in a Broom or Whitecraigs house, where a freestanding bath sits on one side and a walk-in shower on the other and the waste needs rerouting, is a long way above it. Your choice of suite, screen and wall finish fills in the rest. A designer comes out, plans the room with you and prices it with no charge and no obligation. Yes, and in G77 it is a common ask, because a lot of the detached stock here has two or three wet rooms. Doing both together saves you a second round of disruption and one of them can usually be kept working while the other is stripped. The designer plans the order at the survey so the household is never left without a shower, and both rooms are priced on the one quote.
Between three and six days for most jobs here, measured from the morning the old suite goes out. A straight replacement in a Crookfur semi lands at the lower figure. Moving the bath and toilet, taking up a tiled floor or adding a new circuit for an electric shower pushes it up. You see the running order for each day before anything is touched, and in a house with a second toilet that toilet stays live.
Plenty of owners on the newer streets think so. Houses at Maidenhill and Malletsheugh generally come with a plain suite, a narrow shower enclosure, almost no storage and a fan that struggles. The plumbing is modern and stays put, so the money goes into what you actually see and use: a wider shower, a vanity with drawers, better lighting and a fan that clears the steam properly.
Nearly always. On a three-storey house the top shower has the least height of water above it, so it feels flat even when the rest of the taps are fine. Depending on what you have, the answer is a pump, a change of cylinder or a different shower valve matched to the flow. The designer tests the pressure on the visit and tells you which of those your house needs rather than guessing at it.
Very rarely. Eaglesham is a conservation village and the protections are about the frontages and the shape of the place, not the inside of your bathroom. Where it does bite is an extractor or a soil vent that has to come out through a visible wall, and any listed building. East Renfrewshire Council's planners will confirm it quickly, and we supply the product details for any application that is needed.

At our Glasgow showroom, which is inside Dobbies Garden Centre at Braehead, 75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfrew, G51 4FB. It is a straight run up the M77 and round, there is free parking at the door and a café to sit in. It opens 10am to 5pm seven days a week. Coming in is optional, because the designer brings boards, tiles and tap finishes to your house anyway.
The whole of G77 for Newton Mearns, Whitecraigs and Eaglesham, G46 for Giffnock and Thornliebank, and G76 for Clarkston, Busby, Netherlee, Stamperland and Waterfoot. There is no charge for coming out to any of them, and none for aftercare afterwards.
