From start to finish very professional, fantastic job looks great.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new conservatory roofs across Ayr, and our Kilmarnock showroom is up the A77 if you would like to talk it through in person first. Conservatories are everywhere on the bungalows of Alloway, Doonfoot and Seafield and on the estates at Kincaidston and Masonhill, and the wind and salt air off the Firth of Clyde are hard on an old polycarbonate roof. We take it down and build an insulated tiled, solid, glass or hybrid roof on the same frame, so the room is comfortable in February and not only on a fine day in June. The survey is free, the quote is clear, and all workmanship is guaranteed.
On the Ayrshire coast the choice tends to come down to shelter or sky. A tiled or solid roof gives a conservatory in Doonfoot or Prestwick real protection from the wind and keeps the heat in, and a glass or hybrid roof holds on to the big westward light that people here bought the house for. The surveyor sets out what each would mean for your frame and your budget.
[ Lightweight tiled roof ]A fully insulated, tiled roof that looks like a proper extension from outside and feels like one inside. The warmest, quietest option, with no more drumming rain noise, and built to last 50 years or more. The best choice if you want to use the room all year.
[ Solid insulated roof ]Like the tiled option but finished inside with a plastered ceiling and downlights, so it reads as a normal room, not a conservatory. Ready to decorate to match the rest of the house.
[ Glass roof ]Keeps the room bright and open while fixing the temperature, using modern self-cleaning, solar-control glass. The right pick if losing the light is your main worry.
[ Hybrid roof ]A solid, insulated roof with glazed panels or a roof lantern set into it. You get the warmth and the quiet, plus a shaft of daylight where you want it. The best of both.
[ Warm in winter, cool in summer ]Every system is fully insulated to modern U-values, so the room holds its heat in January and stays comfortable in July. No more dripping condensation or a room you only use three months a year.
[ Signed off and certified ]We check your existing frame and base will take the new roof, handle the building control sign-off where needed, and give you the certificate for your records. Nothing left for you to chase later.
From start to finish very professional, fantastic job looks great.
I loved the experience. The finished product was far beyond my expectations and the workload was quickly carried out and completed. The workers when they arrived were polite and maintained high quality standards. Further, they ensured the mess they made was cleaned up at the end of each day. Overall, I would highly recommend this service to others as the business is very professional.

The things Ayr, Prestwick and Troon homeowners raise with us, including price, sea air, wind, the South Ayrshire building warrant and our Kilmarnock showroom.
Phone us and somebody who works with conservatory roofs will help you, never a recorded menu. Calls are generally answered within the hour, Monday to Sunday.
Call 0800 029 3875Expect somewhere between £6,500 and £14,000 for most roofs, fully fitted. Included in that are the removal of the old roof, any reinforcement, the new roof system, a plasterboard ceiling, LED lighting and decoration. The largest lean-to and Edwardian conservatories can come to £18,000 or over. We survey for free and give you a clear quote with no obligation. Various deposit options are available.
Typically 3 to 7 working days from the old roof coming off to the ceiling being finished. We work in sections and seal up nightly, so a squall blowing in off the Firth overnight does not find a way into the room.
A new roof is built for it far better than ageing polycarbonate, which tends to rattle and leak as it gets older. A solid or tiled roof is a rigid, insulated structure fixed down onto your frame, and the glass option uses sealed units with proper flashing details. The surveyor pays particular attention to exposure on seafront streets in Seafield, Prestwick and Troon.
Kilmarnock is the closest: Block 5, Unit 1, Glencairn Industrial Estate, KA1 4AZ, open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, Sunday by appointment. You will not find a conservatory roof built inside it, so think of it as a place to meet the team and ask everything you want to ask, with pictures of your conservatory on your phone. The roof finishes themselves are shown to you at home during the survey.
Normally, yes, when the roof is changing from glazed to solid, as is the case across Scotland. We submit the application to South Ayrshire Council and give you the completion certificate after sign-off. Swapping like for like seldom needs planning permission. If you live in a conservation area, as parts of central Ayr are, we look into it for you and apply where we have to.
In nine cases out of ten it can, with no structural changes, because the tiled and solid roofs are designed to be light. We confirm the load calculation at the survey instead of guessing. Any strengthening is explained and included in your quote, and if your frame really is not up to it we will say so and suggest glass or a hybrid roof.
Certainly. Today's glass roofs use self-cleaning, solar-control glass, which suits a coastal garden where salt spray and gulls leave their mark, and they keep the summer heat in check. Or go for a hybrid, which is a solid insulated roof with glazed panels or a lantern set in where you want daylight. Either way the evening sun over Arran is still yours.
A large one. The roof is where a conservatory loses most of its heat, and a solid insulated roof brings the U-value under 0.18 W/m²K, much the same as the roof on a new extension. Put a radiator in and the room is usable all winter. It is also much quieter in heavy rain and hail.
