Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new conservatory roofs across Bishopbriggs, from the inter-war semis and bungalows near Kenmure to the post-war streets at Auchinairn and Cadder and the later houses out by Westerhill, Woodhill and Jellyhill. A great many of those gardens gained a conservatory in the eighties and nineties, and the polycarbonate that came with it is now doing very little: loud in a downpour, wet with condensation on a cold morning and stifling by the middle of a summer afternoon. We take it off and build an insulated tiled, solid, glass or hybrid roof onto the frame and base already there, then finish the ceiling with plasterboard, lights and paint. All workmanship is guaranteed.
Bishopbriggs runs down from the higher ground at Woodhill to the canal at Cadder, and the conservatories here are mostly modest lean-to and Victorian shapes on family houses. That points a lot of households at a tiled or solid roof, which is the cheapest way to turn the space into a second sitting room. Where a kitchen or dining room behind the conservatory relies on it for daylight, and on the narrower plots around Springfield and Meadowburn it often does, a glass roof or a hybrid with a lantern is the better answer.
[ Lightweight tiled roof ]A fully insulated, tiled roof that looks like a proper extension from outside and feels like one inside. The warmest, quietest option, with no more drumming rain noise, and built to last 50 years or more. The best choice if you want to use the room all year.
[ Solid insulated roof ]Like the tiled option but finished inside with a plastered ceiling and downlights, so it reads as a normal room, not a conservatory. Ready to decorate to match the rest of the house.
[ Glass roof ]Keeps the room bright and open while fixing the temperature, using modern self-cleaning, solar-control glass. The right pick if losing the light is your main worry.
[ Hybrid roof ]A solid, insulated roof with glazed panels or a roof lantern set into it. You get the warmth and the quiet, plus a shaft of daylight where you want it. The best of both.
[ Warm in winter, cool in summer ]Every system is fully insulated to modern U-values, so the room holds its heat in January and stays comfortable in July. No more dripping condensation or a room you only use three months a year.
[ Signed off and certified ]We check your existing frame and base will take the new roof, handle the building control sign-off where needed, and give you the certificate for your records. Nothing left for you to chase later.

I loved the experience. The finished product was far beyond my expectations and the workload was quickly carried out and completed. The workers when they arrived were polite and maintained high quality standards. Further, they ensured the mess they made was cleaned up at the end of each day. Overall, I would highly recommend this service to others as the business is very professional.
Great experience 5* from beginning to end. I had new windows fitted & a new front door really happy with the whole process & fitted within 4 weeks from ordering. Would definitely use again.

What G64 households want settled first: price, time on site, the East Dunbartonshire warrant, whether an eighties frame will hold a solid deck, heat, daylight, noise and monthly terms.
Phone in and you get a person who spends the week on conservatory roofs, not a menu. We aim to answer or ring back within the hour, whichever day it is.
Call 0800 029 3875Most jobs here come out between £6,500 and £14,000 fitted, taking in the strip-out, any strengthening, the new roof system, a plasterboard ceiling, LED lighting and decoration. A large lean-to running the width of the house can go past £18,000. The survey costs nothing, the quote costs nothing, and going ahead is your call. Various deposit options are available.
For a conservatory of ordinary size, 3 to 7 working days. From order to handover is more like four to six weeks, because the roof is made to your measurements before anyone arrives. Whatever the weather does overnight, the room is sealed before the fitters go.
Usually yes, if the roof is being converted to a solid one, and the application is prepared and submitted by us to East Dunbartonshire Council. The completion certificate is handed over once the work has been inspected and signed off. Replacing glass with glass rarely troubles planning. We check the position for you either way before an order is placed.
In the large majority of cases it will. These systems are deliberately lightweight so that the existing frame and base carry them, and roughly nine conservatories out of ten need nothing altered underneath. The surveyor confirms the load calculation at the visit, puts any strengthening into the quote where you can see it, and tells you plainly if a solid roof is the wrong choice for your structure.
Completely, with a tiled or solid roof. The noise is thin plastic sheet flexing under the water, and once an insulated deck is above you there is nothing left to drum. Glass is a great deal quieter than polycarbonate too, though a solid roof is the quietest option of the four.
Then we would not put a fully solid roof on it. A hybrid is insulated across most of the span with a lantern or glazed panels set in, so the dining room keeps its daylight and the conservatory keeps its heat. The other route is a glass roof in solar-control glazing, which holds all the brightness and takes the sting out of the summer.
It is, and that is why most people do it. An insulated solid roof hits a U-value below 0.18 W/m²K, the sort of figure a modern extension roof is built to, and the roof is where a conservatory leaks its heat. Add a radiator and the room stops being seasonal.
It is worth it for the conversation rather than the display, because no conservatory roof is standing at either showroom. Braehead, inside Dobbies Garden Centre, 75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfrew, G51 4FB, is open 10am to 5pm every day of the week. The samples and the structural assessment are brought to your own conservatory, which is the only place a roof can honestly be judged.
