Fulfilled the timescales. Excellent workmanship. Competitive prices. Excellent customer service.

Ultimate Home Solutions designs, supplies and fits new conservatory roofs across Glasgow, from the bungalows of King's Park and Knightswood to the villas of Bearsden and Newton Mearns. A lot of those conservatories still sit under polycarbonate or early glass, which drums in west coast rain, runs with condensation in winter and overheats on the first sunny day in May. We lift that roof off and build a tiled, solid, glass or hybrid roof onto the frame and base already there, then trusted installers finish the ceiling, the lighting and the decoration. All workmanship is guaranteed.
Glasgow gets a good deal more rain than sun, so most customers here start with quiet and warmth. A tiled or solid roof suits a conservatory on a Bishopbriggs or Baillieston semi that is really a second living room, while a glass or hybrid roof makes sense where the conservatory is the only daylight reaching the room behind it. The surveyor weighs each one against your frame and the way you use the space.
[ Lightweight tiled roof ]A fully insulated, tiled roof that looks like a proper extension from outside and feels like one inside. The warmest, quietest option, with no more drumming rain noise, and built to last 50 years or more. The best choice if you want to use the room all year.
[ Solid insulated roof ]Like the tiled option but finished inside with a plastered ceiling and downlights, so it reads as a normal room, not a conservatory. Ready to decorate to match the rest of the house.
[ Glass roof ]Keeps the room bright and open while fixing the temperature, using modern self-cleaning, solar-control glass. The right pick if losing the light is your main worry.
[ Hybrid roof ]A solid, insulated roof with glazed panels or a roof lantern set into it. You get the warmth and the quiet, plus a shaft of daylight where you want it. The best of both.
[ Warm in winter, cool in summer ]Every system is fully insulated to modern U-values, so the room holds its heat in January and stays comfortable in July. No more dripping condensation or a room you only use three months a year.
[ Signed off and certified ]We check your existing frame and base will take the new roof, handle the building control sign-off where needed, and give you the certificate for your records. Nothing left for you to chase later.

Call 0800 029 3875As a guide, most replacement roofs come in between £6,500 and £14,000 fitted. That includes removing the old roof, any strengthening the frame needs, the new roof system, a plasterboard ceiling, LED lighting and decoration. A big lean-to or Edwardian roof can go to £18,000 or more. The survey and the quote are free and carry no obligation. Various deposit options are available.
Between 3 and 7 working days for most roofs. The old roof is stripped, the new one goes on in sections and everything is sealed before the fitters leave each evening, so a wet Glasgow night never reaches the room. A glass roof is usually at the quicker end of that range.
There is no conservatory roof on display, and we would rather say so than have you make the trip expecting one. The showroom inside Dobbies Garden Centre at Braehead (75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfrew, G51 4FB) is open from 10am to 5pm every day, and it is a good place to sit down with your photos and talk through tiled, solid, glass and hybrid roofs. The samples and the structural check come to you at the free survey, because a roof has to be judged against your own frame.
In Scotland a building warrant is normally required when a conservatory roof is converted to a solid one. We make the application for you, to Glasgow City Council, to East Dunbartonshire Council for Bearsden, Milngavie and Bishopbriggs, or to East Renfrewshire Council for Giffnock, Clarkston and Newton Mearns, and you get the completion certificate once the work is signed off. A straight like-for-like swap rarely calls for planning permission. In a conservation area such as Pollokshields or Newlands we check on your behalf and apply if it is needed.
Usually. The tiled and solid systems are lightweight by design, so they sit on the frame and base you already have, and about nine in ten conservatories need no structural work. The load calculation is checked on the surveyor's first visit. Where strengthening is needed it is explained and included in your quote, and where a solid roof is the wrong answer we will tell you and point you towards glass or a hybrid.
Any of them will be a big improvement on polycarbonate. A tiled or solid roof shades the room completely and is fully insulated, so it stays comfortable in July as well as January. If you want to keep the sky, modern glass with a solar-control coating reflects a large share of the sun's heat before it gets in, and it is self-cleaning, which is handy under Glasgow's trees and gulls.
Yes. A tiled or solid insulated roof is the quietest choice and the drumming simply goes. A glass roof is far quieter than polycarbonate too, because glass is heavier and does not rattle the way thin plastic sheet does. It is the change customers mention most once the job is finished.
That is the reason most people do it. A solid insulated roof reaches a U-value below 0.18 W/m²K, in line with the roof of a modern extension, and most of a conservatory's heat is lost through the roof. With a radiator and your existing glazed walls the room becomes part of the house all year, not a store for the garden chairs.
Yes. We offer Buy Now Pay 12 Months Later, flexible credit up to 24 months, and longer-term flexible credit up to 10 years.
