Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new conservatory roofs across Hamilton, from the villas up at Silvertonhill to the family houses at Fairhill, Eddlewood, Earnock and Woodhead. The town sits low in the Clyde valley with Chatelherault on the hill behind it, and low ground holds the cold: a conservatory here runs with condensation on a frosty morning long after the rest of the house has warmed through, then turns airless the moment the sun is out. We take the polycarbonate or tired glass off and build a tiled, solid, glass or hybrid roof onto your own frame and base, then plaster, light and paint the ceiling. All workmanship is guaranteed.
In Hamilton the deciding factor is usually the cold, because the valley floor sits under frost long after the hill does. A tiled or solid roof is the most direct answer, turning a conservatory at Fairhill or Earnock into a room with a radiator and a plastered ceiling. On the tighter plots nearer the town centre, where the conservatory is what feeds daylight into the back of the house, a glass roof or a hybrid with a lantern keeps that light while still fixing the temperature.
[ Lightweight tiled roof ]A fully insulated, tiled roof that looks like a proper extension from outside and feels like one inside. The warmest, quietest option, with no more drumming rain noise, and built to last 50 years or more. The best choice if you want to use the room all year.
[ Solid insulated roof ]Like the tiled option but finished inside with a plastered ceiling and downlights, so it reads as a normal room, not a conservatory. Ready to decorate to match the rest of the house.
[ Glass roof ]Keeps the room bright and open while fixing the temperature, using modern self-cleaning, solar-control glass. The right pick if losing the light is your main worry.
[ Hybrid roof ]A solid, insulated roof with glazed panels or a roof lantern set into it. You get the warmth and the quiet, plus a shaft of daylight where you want it. The best of both.
[ Warm in winter, cool in summer ]Every system is fully insulated to modern U-values, so the room holds its heat in January and stays comfortable in July. No more dripping condensation or a room you only use three months a year.
[ Signed off and certified ]We check your existing frame and base will take the new roof, handle the building control sign-off where needed, and give you the certificate for your records. Nothing left for you to chase later.

From start to finish very professional, fantastic job looks great.
I was really pleased with the professionalism of the firm who replaced four windows with a triple glazed upgrade. The job was completed in one day. The workmen were very good and the quality was excellent.

A proper look at the frame before any promises, a figure explained rather than quoted at you, installers we vet who shut the roof each evening, and a showroom you can get to when you would rather talk than read. Silvertonhill or Eddlewood, it works the same way.

What households in ML3 want dealt with first: the cost, the working days, the South Lanarkshire warrant, valley damp and condensation, rain noise, daylight and paying monthly.
Ring us and a person who works on these roofs every week will talk it through, with nothing to press and no script. Most calls come back inside the hour.
Call 0800 029 3875The usual bracket is £6,500 to £14,000, fitted. Stripping out the old roof, any strengthening, the new system, a plasterboard ceiling, LED lighting and decoration are all inside the figure. A wide lean-to or a big Edwardian roof can go above £18,000. Neither the survey nor the quote is charged for. Various deposit options are available.
The roof itself takes 3 to 7 working days in most cases. Making it takes longer than fitting it, so allow four to six weeks between the order and the handover. The conservatory is closed up and made weather-tight every evening, whatever stage the build has reached.
For a conversion to a solid roof, yes, a building warrant is normally required in Scotland and we make that application to South Lanarkshire Council for you. The completion certificate is handed over once the work has been inspected. A glass-for-glass replacement rarely raises a planning question. If the house sits in a conservation area we look into it before anything is ordered.
It should. Condensation forms because the inside face of a polycarbonate or single-glazed roof is cold enough for the moisture in the air to settle on it. An insulated deck keeps that surface warm, so there is nothing for the moisture to condense against, and the damp mornings that come with living on the valley floor stop being a problem in that room.
Almost certainly. The tiled and solid systems are made light on purpose so that they sit on the frame and base you already have, and roughly nine conservatories in ten need no structural work. The load calculation is done at the survey. Any strengthening is written into the quote, and if a solid roof is the wrong answer for your structure you are told so rather than sold one.
That goes with a tiled or solid roof, and it is the change customers mention most often. The racket is thin plastic sheet moving under the water. An insulated deck has mass and does not flex. Glass is far calmer than polycarbonate as well, if you would rather keep the sky.
Only if you let it. Rooflights or a glazed lantern can be set into an insulated deck, which is what a hybrid roof is, and daylight still reaches the back of the house. Where light matters most, a glass roof in solar-control, self-cleaning glazing keeps the room bright and brings the temperature under control instead.
That is the reason to spend the money. An insulated solid roof reaches a U-value below 0.18 W/m²K, which is the standard a modern extension roof works to, and the roof is where a conservatory loses most of its warmth. With a radiator fitted, the room becomes part of the house all year.
