From start to finish very professional, fantastic job looks great.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new conservatory roofs across Oban and the coast either side of it. Oban is one of the wettest towns in Scotland, and a polycarbonate roof turns that into a season of noise, streaming condensation and green weathering that no amount of scrubbing shifts. You see it behind the houses climbing Soroba and Glenshellach, on the bungalows at Pulpit Hill and Longsdale and out at Dunbeg and Connel. We take the old roof down and build an insulated tiled, solid, glass or hybrid roof onto the frame and base you already have, with the ceiling plastered and lit inside. The survey happens at your own address and all workmanship is guaranteed.
Rain is the deciding factor on this coast, not sunshine. A tiled or solid roof is what most Oban households end up choosing, because it ends the drumming, keeps the heat in and gives them a room that works in November as well as June. Where the conservatory looks out over the water at Ganavan or Gallanach and the outlook is the point of it, solar-control glass or a hybrid roof with a lantern keeps the view and still settles the temperature.
[ Lightweight tiled roof ]A fully insulated, tiled roof that looks like a proper extension from outside and feels like one inside. The warmest, quietest option, with no more drumming rain noise, and built to last 50 years or more. The best choice if you want to use the room all year.
[ Solid insulated roof ]Like the tiled option but finished inside with a plastered ceiling and downlights, so it reads as a normal room, not a conservatory. Ready to decorate to match the rest of the house.
[ Glass roof ]Keeps the room bright and open while fixing the temperature, using modern self-cleaning, solar-control glass. The right pick if losing the light is your main worry.
[ Hybrid roof ]A solid, insulated roof with glazed panels or a roof lantern set into it. You get the warmth and the quiet, plus a shaft of daylight where you want it. The best of both.
[ Warm in winter, cool in summer ]Every system is fully insulated to modern U-values, so the room holds its heat in January and stays comfortable in July. No more dripping condensation or a room you only use three months a year.
[ Signed off and certified ]We check your existing frame and base will take the new roof, handle the building control sign-off where needed, and give you the certificate for your records. Nothing left for you to chase later.

01Tile, slate-effect and render samples held against your own harling, render or stone, outdoors, where the colour can actually be judged.
02The frame and the base are measured and assessed during the visit. In about nine cases out of ten nothing underneath has to be altered.
03Tell the surveyor what has ruined the room and the recommendation follows from that, including a plain no if a solid roof is the wrong call.
04Nothing is charged for the visit and you are tied to nothing afterwards. Various deposit options are available.

The things Argyll households raise first: rain, noise, damp and green staining, winter warmth, the building warrant, older frames, the timescale and spreading the cost.
Phone and you speak to somebody who works on conservatory roofs, not a call handler reading a card. Most callers hear back within the hour, whatever day it is.
Call 0800 029 3875Yes, and there is no charge for the visit. A surveyor comes to your own address anywhere in PA34, from the town itself out to Kilmore, Dunbeg, Connel, Benderloch and Taynuilt, with no travel charge and no call-out fee. The quote that follows costs nothing either, and whether you take it up is entirely your decision.
Most fall between £6,500 and £14,000, fitted. That figure includes removing the old roof, any strengthening the frame turns out to need, the new roof system, a plasterboard ceiling, LED lighting and decoration. A very large lean-to can push beyond £18,000. Your own number follows the free survey. Various deposit options are available.
A considerable one. A tiled or solid insulated roof ends the drumming entirely, and because the inside face stays warm there is nothing for condensation to settle on, so the room stops feeling damp. It also takes away the green weathering that grows on old polycarbonate in a wet climate. If you prefer glass, modern self-cleaning glazing sheds dirt far better than the sheet you have now.
It will. An insulated solid roof reaches a U-value below 0.18 W/m²K, the same sort of standard as the roof of a modern extension, and a conservatory loses most of its heat upwards. Put a radiator in and the room is somewhere to sit in January instead of a store for garden tools.
A conversion to a solid roof normally requires a building warrant in Scotland, and the application is prepared and lodged by us with Argyll and Bute Council. The completion certificate comes to you when the work has been signed off. A like-for-like glazed replacement rarely calls for planning permission, and we check the position before anything is ordered if your home sits in a conservation area.
Very probably. The systems are made light on purpose so the existing frame and base carry them, and roughly nine conservatories in ten need no structural work. The surveyor assesses the frame and the base on the visit. If a post or a beam needs attention it goes into the quote where you can see it, and if the structure will not take a solid roof you are told so and shown the glass and hybrid options instead.
The fitting is 3 to 7 working days. Making the roof to your measurements takes longer than putting it up, so allow four to six weeks from the order to the handover. The conservatory is closed up and made weather-tight before anyone leaves at night, which matters rather more here than it does elsewhere.
Not at all. A glass roof keeps the outlook and uses solar-control glazing to stop the room overheating on the bright days. A hybrid gives you an insulated deck with a lantern or glazed panels set into it, so the warmth and the quiet arrive without emptying the room of light.
