Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new conservatory roofs across Perth, measured at your home with no charge for the journey. Sheltered in the Tay valley, the city reaches summer temperatures that few places this far north see, and the same inland setting brings hard frosts once the nights draw in. A conservatory caught between those two extremes at Tulloch, Craigie, Letham or Bridgend spends most of the year unused. Swapping the roof for an insulated tiled, solid, glass or hybrid system settles the temperature, quietens the rain and turns the space into an ordinary room, with all workmanship guaranteed.
Heat is the first thing Perth customers mention, so the choice usually starts there. Solar-control glass reflects a large part of the summer sun while leaving the room bright, which suits a conservatory that faces the afternoon at Viewlands or Burghmuir. A tiled or solid roof goes further, insulating the space so it holds its warmth through a frosty Strathtay night as well. Between the two sits the hybrid, an insulated deck with a lantern or glazed panels set into it, and the surveyor compares all four in the room itself.
[ Lightweight tiled roof ]A fully insulated, tiled roof that looks like a proper extension from outside and feels like one inside. The warmest, quietest option, with no more drumming rain noise, and built to last 50 years or more. The best choice if you want to use the room all year.
[ Solid insulated roof ]Like the tiled option but finished inside with a plastered ceiling and downlights, so it reads as a normal room, not a conservatory. Ready to decorate to match the rest of the house.
[ Glass roof ]Keeps the room bright and open while fixing the temperature, using modern self-cleaning, solar-control glass. The right pick if losing the light is your main worry.
[ Hybrid roof ]A solid, insulated roof with glazed panels or a roof lantern set into it. You get the warmth and the quiet, plus a shaft of daylight where you want it. The best of both.
[ Warm in winter, cool in summer ]Every system is fully insulated to modern U-values, so the room holds its heat in January and stays comfortable in July. No more dripping condensation or a room you only use three months a year.
[ Signed off and certified ]We check your existing frame and base will take the new roof, handle the building control sign-off where needed, and give you the certificate for your records. Nothing left for you to chase later.
Did what they said they would do and on time.
Fulfilled the timescales. Excellent workmanship. Competitive prices. Excellent customer service.
I loved the experience. The finished product was far beyond my expectations and the workload was quickly carried out and completed. The workers when they arrived were polite and maintained high quality standards. Further, they ensured the mess they made was cleaned up at the end of each day. Overall, I would highly recommend this service to others as the business is very professional.

A surveyor calls at your Perth home at an hour that suits the household, with the finishes to look at, the means to check the frame and base, and enough time to answer whatever you want to ask.
01Tile, slate-effect and rendered finishes held up beside your own stone, render or brick, outside in daylight rather than under an artificial light indoors.
02Frame loading and the condition of the base are checked on the day. For roughly nine conservatories in ten, nothing below the roof has to change.
03Which way the room faces, when you actually use it and what is spoiling it now all feed into which of the four roofs is recommended.
04The visit costs nothing and neither does the quote. Various deposit options are available.

The things households in PH1 and PH2 ask first: summer overheating, glare, winter frost, rain noise, the warrant with Perth and Kinross, older frames, timescales and monthly payments.
Call and a member of the roof team picks up in person, with no menu to work through. Most enquiries get an answer inside the hour, whichever day you ring.
Call 0800 029 3875We will, and it is not. A surveyor comes out to any address in the city and the villages round it, Scone, Bridge of Earn, Luncarty, Almondbank, Stanley and Methven among them, with nothing added for travel and no call-out fee. The quote afterwards is free as well.
Most replacement roofs land between £6,500 and £14,000 fitted. That includes taking off the old roof, any strengthening the frame needs, the new system, a plasterboard ceiling, LED lights and the decoration. A large lean-to or a wide Edwardian can go beyond £18,000. You get a clear quote once the survey is done. Various deposit options are available.
Two options, depending on how much daylight you want to keep. Solar-control glass carries a coating that reflects much of the sun's heat straight back out while staying clear to look through, so the room stays bright but stops climbing. An insulated tiled or solid roof removes the overhead heat gain altogether and, because it insulates in both directions, keeps the warmth in when the frost comes. A hybrid gives you some of each.
Yes. Glare through an overhead glazed roof is harsh because the light comes from directly above with nothing to soften it. A solid or hybrid roof takes that away and leaves the daylight arriving through the glazed walls, which is far easier on the eyes and much kinder to furniture and flooring. If you would rather keep the roof glazed, solar-control glass takes a good deal of the harshness out.
That is the whole point of the work. An insulated solid roof achieves a U-value below 0.18 W/m²K, the standard a modern extension roof is built to, so the heat you put into the room stays there. With a radiator added and the existing glazed walls, the conservatory becomes somewhere to use on a frosty January morning rather than a store for the garden furniture.
It does. Rain on thin polycarbonate has nothing to absorb it, so the sound is carried straight into the room. A tiled or solid roof puts insulation and a plasterboard ceiling between you and the weather, and the drumming goes. Glass is quieter than polycarbonate as well, though a solid roof is the quietest of the four systems.
We do. In Scotland a building warrant is normally required when a conservatory roof is converted to a solid one, so we prepare and submit the application to Perth and Kinross Council and give you the completion certificate once it has been granted. A like-for-like glazed replacement rarely needs planning permission, and we check the position if your home is in a conservation area such as Kinnoull or the city centre.
In the great majority of cases it will. The tiled and solid systems are engineered to be light enough for the frame and base already there, and around nine in ten conservatories are fitted without any structural work. The surveyor carries out the load check while at your home. If strengthening is needed it is explained and priced in the quote, and if a solid roof is not suitable for your structure you will be told so and offered glass or a hybrid instead.
On site the work usually runs to 3 to 7 working days. Between accepting the quote and the installers arriving is generally 4 to 6 weeks, since the roof is built to the measurements taken at your survey. The conservatory is left weather-tight every evening.
