Slim Frames, Big View
The aluminium frame is narrower than your finger. Closed, you see the garden, not the frame.
20mm frames

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new bi-fold doors right across Motherwell, from the inter-war semis at Knowetop and Airbles with their long rear gardens to the family houses at Flemington and Jerviston and the newer properties out on the Ravenscraig site. Most of the work starts at a tired set of patio doors or a back window that was never going to earn its keep. One surveyor settles the opening, the lintel and the threshold, and trusted installers are in and out in 1 to 2 days with all workmanship guaranteed.
A bi-fold is really three decisions. How many panels the opening will take, which way they stack and where the traffic door sits, and whether the threshold sits flush with the patio or keeps a weather upstand. The surveyor works through all three at the house before anything is priced.

20mm framesA plastic barrier inside every frame stops cold coming through the metal, with argon-filled double or triple glazing.
U-value from 1.2Fold them left, right or split. One panel works as a normal door, so you can nip out without folding the whole run back.
2 to 7 panelsBrush and rubber seals on every panel, and a drainage track that copes with driving rain, not just a calm afternoon.
Class 4 weather ratedEach panel bolts into the frame at the top and the bottom. Harder to get through than most front doors.

Flush or weatheredExcellent service and communication from Ultimate Home Solutions from start to finish. Requested a visit to discuss the supply and fitting of new front and back UPVC doors to our property. Appointment arranged very quickly and Liam arrived to discuss our options and give us background to the Company. There was no pressure from start to finish. Request to think about it overnight was welcomed and I phoned to proceed...
Great experience 5* from beginning to end. I had new windows fitted & a new front door really happy with the whole process & fitted within 4 weeks from ordering. Would definitely use again.
From start to finish very professional, fantastic job looks great.
Every review here was left by a customer on Google or Trustpilot and appears exactly as written.
One survey covers the opening, the lintel and the threshold, one contract covers the structural side and the doors together, and the panels are hung, adjusted and sealed by fitters who do nothing else. From Forgewood to Newarthill that is what people said they wanted, and all workmanship is guaranteed.

The online designer is for our Palladio range, the premium end of what we fit. It does not cover the other door ranges on this page. Choose a style, try it in every colour, compare the glass patterns and set the handle, the letterplate and the knocker.
Opens the Palladio door designer in a new tab. Free to use, nothing to download, and no obligation.
Someone comes out free of charge, measures the opening and the floor level, and talks through panel counts, which way the doors should stack and where the traffic door sits.
A free quote follows, setting out the panel layout, the frame colour inside and out, the glass and the threshold. There is no obligation and nobody will chase you.
Bi-fold installations usually take 1 to 2 days. The old opening is prepared, the track is levelled, the panels are hung and adjusted, and everything is sealed and tested before we leave.
We fold and unfold the doors with you, show you the locks and the maintenance, then leave the certificate and care notes. All workmanship is guaranteed.

Someone who knows bi-folds answers, not a call centre. We are here seven days a week and most messages get a reply inside the hour.
Call 0800 029 3875It depends on the width of the opening, how many panels that comes to, whether you go aluminium or uPVC and the glass specification. Widening an opening and fitting a lintel adds to it, and the surveyor prices that as part of the same job rather than leaving you to find a builder. The survey is free and the quote carries no obligation. Various deposit options are available.
Usually, yes. It needs a lintel sized for the span and proper support while the work is done, and on a semi the surveyor will look at what is above before committing to a width. All of that is covered in one contract, so there is no juggling a builder and a door company between you.
As a rough guide the panels run around 600mm to 1000mm each, so a three metre opening usually lands on three or four. The surveyor measures the actual structural opening and sets out the options, including which way the stack folds and where the traffic door should sit for daily use.
Not the way they are specified here. Aluminium sets are thermally broken, so there is an insulating barrier through the frame rather than a straight metal path from outside to in, and the glass is energy rated with a warm-edge spacer. uPVC is warmer again for less money if the slim sightline is not the priority.
It can, and it looks far better if you are running the same paving through. A flush threshold needs drainage thought about at the survey, because water has to go somewhere. Where that is not practical, a low weathered upstand is the safer option and the surveyor will tell you which suits your levels.
The doors themselves take 1 to 2 days. If an opening is being formed or widened, add the structural days on top and the surveyor will give you the run of it before you commit, so you know how many days the back of the house is opened up.
Multipoint locking on the traffic door, shootbolts on the folding panels into the head and cill, and laminated glass where you want the extra. The hardware is specified at the survey rather than assumed, and it is worth saying if the doors are not overlooked from anywhere.
Aluminium gives the slimmest frames and the widest colour choice and carries more glass per panel, which is why most people picture it. uPVC costs less and holds heat slightly better. On a smaller opening the difference in sightline matters less than people expect, and the surveyor will say so.
