Slim Frames, Big View
The aluminium frame is narrower than your finger. Closed, you see the garden, not the frame.
20mm frames

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new bi-fold doors all over Renfrew, on the rear of the semis and four-in-a-blocks at Moorpark, Kirklandneuk and Porterfield, on extensions at Dean Park and Newmains, and on the townhouses and flats down at Ferry Village and Kings Inch. The burgh sits on the south bank of the Clyde with very little between it and a south-westerly, so a wide glazed opening has to be specified for weather and not just for summer. These run on a drained track with brush and rubber seals on every leaf. Our windows and doors showroom happens to be in the town, inside Dobbies on Kings Inch Drive, so the frames, the colours and the hardware can all be looked at before you decide anything.
Next to the Clyde a rear wall of glass earns its keep or it does not, and the difference is in the track and the seals rather than the pane. Each panel bolts into the frame top and bottom, the drainage track is rated Class 4 for driving rain, and the aluminium sections carry a thermal break so the cold has nowhere to cross. Folded back, up to 90 per cent of the opening is clear.

20mm framesA plastic barrier inside every frame stops cold coming through the metal, with argon-filled double or triple glazing.
U-value from 1.2Fold them left, right or split. One panel works as a normal door, so you can nip out without folding the whole run back.
2 to 7 panelsBrush and rubber seals on every panel, and a drainage track that copes with driving rain, not just a calm afternoon.
Class 4 weather ratedEach panel bolts into the frame at the top and the bottom. Harder to get through than most front doors.

Flush or weatheredAbsolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. The qualities of the product were explained and demonstrated and we went ahead. We were delighted with the end product and the lads who done the job were friendly professional and approachable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone and will do so if asked.
Excellent service and communication from Ultimate Home Solutions from start to finish. Requested a visit to discuss the supply and fitting of new front and back UPVC doors to our property. Appointment arranged very quickly and Liam arrived to discuss our options and give us background to the Company. There was no pressure from start to finish. Request to think about it overnight was welcomed and I phoned to proceed...
I was very well impressed from stat to finish with ultimate home solutions. I had Henry the sales for the double glazing and his advice was second to none and thank goodness for my windows look beautiful. The company that installed them were very professional and very clean workers. I would highly recommend this company and will use them in future for any further projects.
Every review here was left by a customer on Google or Trustpilot and appears exactly as written.
The showroom is a few streets away, the surveyor who measures the wall is the one who prices it, and the lintel work sits inside the same contract. Dean Park to Inchinnan, nothing changes about that.

The online designer is for our Palladio range, the premium end of what we fit. It does not cover the other door ranges on this page. Choose a style, try it in every colour, compare the glass patterns and set the handle, the letterplate and the knocker.
Opens the Palladio door designer in a new tab. Free to use, nothing to download, and no obligation.
Someone comes out free of charge, measures the opening and the floor level, and talks through panel counts, which way the doors should stack and where the traffic door sits.
A free quote follows, setting out the panel layout, the frame colour inside and out, the glass and the threshold. There is no obligation and nobody will chase you.
Bi-fold installations usually take 1 to 2 days. The old opening is prepared, the track is levelled, the panels are hung and adjusted, and everything is sealed and tested before we leave.
We fold and unfold the doors with you, show you the locks and the maintenance, then leave the certificate and care notes. All workmanship is guaranteed.

Our windows and doors showroom is inside Dobbies Garden Centre at Braehead, 75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfrew, G51 4FB, open 10am to 5pm seven days with no appointment needed. Walk through the garden centre, out the back and up to the top right. The surveyor also brings frame finishes and hardware samples to the house, and there is a second showroom in Kilmarnock.
A set usually falls between £2,500 and £6,500 fitted. The panel count, the frame material and the glazing specification set the figure, and any structural work is priced separately after the survey. Various deposit options are available.
That is what the weather rating is for. The track is rated Class 4, which covers driving rain rather than a still afternoon, and every panel seals on brush and rubber gaskets. On an exposed rear elevation we would normally specify a weathered sill rather than a flush one, and the surveyor will say so when they see the ground levels.
Where the patio or decking allows it, yes. A flush track gives a step free walk out, which matters if anyone in the house uses a frame or a chair. It is a question of how sheltered the elevation is, and that gets decided at the survey rather than in a brochure.
Only if the opening is being made wider or created from scratch, in which case a steel lintel is usually required. We take care of the propping and the lintel ourselves, with a structural engineer involved where the span needs one. Where you are simply replacing patio doors in an existing opening, there is normally none of that.
Aluminium gives the slimmest frames, any RAL colour and the best performance on a long run. uPVC costs less and asks nothing of you afterwards. Over roughly 3 metres, aluminium is the sensible choice.
Up to 6 metres on a six panel aluminium set, which is around 20 feet, and wider again with a bespoke configuration. The material, the panel count and what the wall above can carry decide it.
No. One panel works as a traffic door, exactly like a normal back door, so day to day use does not mean opening the whole run. You pick which end it sits at.
Bi-fold installations take 1 to 2 days, with an extra day where a new lintel is going in. The house is left secure and weathertight each evening.
