It depends on the opening width and the panel count that follows, on aluminium against uPVC, and on the glass. Forming or widening an opening adds to the total and we price that alongside the doors rather than leaving it to a builder. Nothing is charged for the survey and the quote binds you to nothing. Often that is exactly the job. Where a sunroom has failed it can come off and the original opening be widened, or the doors can go into the sunroom itself. The surveyor will look at what the existing structure is standing on before suggesting either.

Where levels and drainage allow it, yes, and it finishes far better when the paving continues out from the room. Drainage is a survey decision. If it cannot be done properly, a low weathered upstand is the sensible route and we will say so.

The doors take 1 to 2 days. If the opening is being formed or widened, add the structural days and the surveyor sets out the sequence in advance so you know how long the wall is open.

Multipoint locking on the traffic door, shootbolts driving from the folding leaves into the head and cill, and laminated glass where you want extra. Say at the survey if the doors are screened from view and the hardware can be specified accordingly.

Aluminium gives the slimmest frames, the widest colour choice and more glass per panel. uPVC costs less and insulates slightly better. On a narrower opening the frame difference is less obvious than people expect.
