Past 200 colour and glass combinations. Greys and blacks sell hardest on the newer streets, heritage greens and creams suit the older houses, and woodgrain finishes read as timber from the pavement. The inside face can be a different colour, and handles come in chrome, gold, matt black or antique.

Only for as long as it takes to swap the frames over, which is an hour or two in the middle of the morning. The whole job is one working day: old set out, new frame in and sealed, door hung, glass and hardware fitted, locking explained, waste away in the van.
