Anthracite grey, black, cream, chartwell green and duck egg blue go out most often, woodgrain finishes give a timber look with none of the upkeep, and the inside face can be a different shade from the outside. For hardware there is chrome, gold, matt black and antique.

You are not. A composite door is fitted in a day: the old door and frame come out, the new set goes in, it is sealed, the hardware and glass are fitted and the locking is explained to you before the installers go. Your doorway is never left open at the end of the day.

Neither. There is no paint to flake and no timber on show to seal, so the yearly job of rubbing down and repainting simply disappears. Warm soapy water on the face of the door and a little oil on the hinges once in a while is all it takes.
