Front Doors For West Fife

Composite doors for Rosyth, from the garden city streets to Camdean.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new composite doors across Rosyth and the KY11 area, with the samples brought to your hall and nothing charged for the visit. Rosyth was laid out as a garden city for the dockyard from 1915, and those early terraces and cottages along Queensferry Road, Park Road and Admiralty Road have generous doorways, often set back in a porch, that were never built to a modern size. The later estates at Camdean, Bellknowes and Primrose brought another few thousand front doors with them, and most are now well past their prime. The Forth is a few hundred yards away in every direction, so salt and wind are part of the picture too. A composite door answers all of it: a solid core around 44mm thick, a moulded skin nothing soaks into, and a frame made for your own opening. Trusted installers fit it in a day and all workmanship is guaranteed.

Why Composite

A timber door that has never once needed painting.

Wind comes off the Forth from two directions in Rosyth and there is not much in the way to slow it down. Timber doors swell and stick, hollow panels drum and bow, and both leak heat at the edges. Composite behaves differently, and this is why.

Solid Core, Not Hollow

A 44mm solid laminated timber core, not a hollow shell filled with foam. It shuts with a thud, not a rattle.

“Excellent service and communication.”

Excellent service and communication from Ultimate Home Solutions from start to finish. Requested a visit to discuss the supply and fitting of new front and back UPVC doors to our property. Appointment arranged very quickly and Liam arrived to discuss our options and give us background to the Company. There was no pressure from start to finish. Request to think about it overnight was welcomed and I phoned to proceed...

“Excellent job with triple glazing.”

I was really pleased with the professionalism of the firm who replaced four windows with a triple glazed upgrade. The job was completed in one day. The workmen were very good and the quality was excellent.

Four Steps, Start To Keys

Four stages, and the door goes in during one.

1
Step 1

We Measure Up At Home

A surveyor comes out free of charge, measures the opening and the sill, and brings colour, glass and hardware samples so you can choose at your own front door.

2
Step 2

A Clear Quote To Consider

A free, no-obligation quote follows, showing the door style, colour, glass and locks you chose. Take as long as you like over it.

3
Step 3

One Day To Fit

Most composite doors go in within a single working day. The old door and frame are removed, the new set is fitted, sealed and locked, and the waste leaves with the installers.

4
Step 4

Keys In Your Hand

You are shown the locks, then given the keys, the installation certificate and care notes, and we check in with you a few weeks later. All workmanship is guaranteed.

We come to you

Choose the door at home, against your own brick and render.

Colour swatches, glass patterns, handle finishes and a proper measure of the opening, all in one visit to your Rosyth address at a time that suits.

Colours held up outside first

Render, brick and harl each pull a shade in a different direction, and daylight in Fife is not showroom lighting. Two minutes outside saves a lot of second-guessing.

FAQ

Rosyth composite door questions.

Travel, cost, the garden city terraces, porches, wind off the Forth, security, warmth, colours, the fitting day and the KY11 villages.

Not what you were after?

Whoever answers deals with door appointments every day, so you get answers instead of a transfer. The phones are on seven days and most messages come back within the hour.

Call 0800 029 3875
Do you cover Rosyth, and is the travel charged for?

We cover it, and no, nothing is added for the journey. Appointments take in Rosyth, Inverkeithing, North Queensferry, Dalgety Bay, Limekilns and the villages around them, with no call-out fee. Afterwards you get a free quote with no strings on it.

What would a new composite door come to?

Most are £950 to £2,200 fitted, with the old door removed, carried away and the certification included. The colour, the glass design, the hardware and any side panels decide the rest. Various deposit options are available.

Ours is one of the original garden city houses. Is there anything we need permission for?

It is worth checking. The early Admiralty-built terraces have a distinct look that Fife Council takes an interest in, and if your house is listed or your street is protected, consent may be required before the frontage changes. Speak to the council first, and if a composite door is fine the Heritage designs and woodgrain finishes suit those houses best.

There is a porch over our front door. Is that a complication?

No. A recessed or covered entrance is common right through Rosyth and it usually works in your favour, because the door sits a little out of the weather. The surveyor measures the opening inside the porch and notes how the new frame will meet the existing brickwork.

How does it handle the wind off the Forth?

Well. Weather seals run round the frame and the multi-point lock pulls the door onto them from top to bottom, which is what keeps driven rain out. The door has real weight to it, so it does not flex in a gust the way a light panel does, and exposed doorways get a threshold specified to match.

Will it be warmer than the door we have?

Almost certainly. A composite door is six times more insulating than timber, and the core is insulated all the way through rather than hollow. Add a proper seal round the frame and the cold draught along the hall floor in winter stops.

How much tougher is it to break into?

Every door is tested to PAS 24, which is the British forced-entry standard. The core is solid, the locking is multi-point with hooks and bolts biting into the frame, the cylinder is 3-star Kitemarked and anti-snap, and glazing is laminated rather than toughened.

What is on offer for colours and glass?

The list runs past 200 colour and glass pairings. Anthracite grey, black, cream, chartwell green and duck egg blue are the regulars, woodgrain finishes look like painted timber, and the hall face can differ from the street face. Hardware comes in chrome, gold, matt black or antique.

What does the fitting day look like?

One working day from start to finish. The old door and frame come out, the new frame is set and sealed, the door is hung, the glazing and hardware go on, and the locking is demonstrated before the installers leave. Everything removed leaves in the van.

Any way of paying it up over time?

Yes. We offer Buy Now Pay 12 Months Later, flexible credit up to 24 months, and longer-term flexible credit up to 10 years. The initial eligibility check is a soft search with no impact on your credit score, and gives an instant decision. Ultimate Home Solutions is authorised by the FCA as a credit broker (not a lender).

Which places around Rosyth are on your patch?

The whole of KY11 and the area round it: the town centre, Queensferry Road, Park Road, Backmarch, Castlandhill, Camdean, Kings Road, Primrose, Hilton Road, Bellknowes, Admiralty Road and Crossroads, then Inverkeithing, North Queensferry, Dalgety Bay, Donibristle, Hillend, Aberdour, Limekilns, Charlestown, Crossford, Cairneyhill and Torryburn. No travel charge in any of them.
