Palladio Doors
in Kirkcaldy,
built for the Forth wind.

We do come over, and there is no charge for it. A surveyor calls at your home anywhere in KY1 or KY2, from Linktown and the Esplanade up through Pathhead, Sinclairtown and Gallatown to Templehall and Dunnikier. No travel is added to the bill and no call-out fee is charged, and the quote that follows is free with no obligation.

It comes down to your doorway. Design, colour, glass and any side panels all change the figure, so a surveyor measures first and prices after, rather than guessing over the phone. The visit costs nothing and neither does the quote. If you would rather spread it, plans run from £22 a week, subject to status, and various deposit options are available.

Better than a painted door does. The colour is a Renolit foil over a through-coloured sheet, so there is no paint film for salt to get under and lift, and the outer shell is a single fibreglass-reinforced piece with no joints. Two weather seals close the gap round the edge and the glass is triple glazed. There is nothing to sand and nothing to repaint.

It might. Dysart has a conservation area covering the old harbour streets and a good number of buildings there are listed, so Fife Council can have a say on the frontage. Speak to the planners before ordering. Elsewhere in the town, on the terraces, semis and post-war estates, replacing a front door is not normally something you need permission for.

It means the door is built as one shell rather than assembled from parts. A Palladio is a single 65mm fibreglass-reinforced piece filled with a dense insulating core, so there is no thin skin bonded on that could peel and no joint that could open up. The hinges sit inside the edge of the door where they cannot be tampered with.

It is tested to PAS 24, which is the standard building control and insurers look for. Each door carries a Milenco 10-point locking system, a 3-star cylinder and four adjustable hinges held by the thick walls of the shell.

The Original Collection has 25, and the panelled designs such as the Georgian, Cambridge and Kensington sit well on the older Pathhead and Sinclairtown frontages. If your doorway has glass at the sides or a light above it, those are made with matching glass as part of the same order.

Palladio doors are built to order in Ireland, so allow 4 to 6 weeks from order to delivery. The fitting takes a single working day. The old door and frame come out, the new set is fitted and sealed, every locking point is tested and the house is left secure.

Every KY1 and KY2 address, plus Kinghorn, Burntisland, Auchtertool, Thornton, Glenrothes, Windygates, Kennoway and Leven. All of them get a free survey at home with nothing added for the journey.
