Stone Deserves A Good Door

Palladio doors for Stirling, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new Palladio doors throughout Stirling, taking in the stone villas of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane, the wynds and terraces of the Old Town, the tenement flats at Viewforth and Cornton, the semis at St Ninians and Borestone and the newer housing at Raploch, Cowie, Fallin and Plean. Dressed stone shows up a thin printed door skin without mercy. A Palladio is pressed as one 65mm shell with its grain moulded off real timber, so it reads as a wooden door from the gate while asking nothing of you in return.

Why Palladio

Most composite doors copy timber. Palladio is moulded from it.

Round Stirling a front door has weather on one side and a cold hall on the other, and an older door loses on both counts. A Palladio is one reinforced 65mm shell around a dense core, with a weather seal inboard and a second one outboard, so the draught round the edge disappears. Triple glazing comes as standard in the door and in any side panels, and the grain is moulded from real timber rather than printed onto a flat sheet.

Moulded From Real Timber

The grain you can feel is taken from an original timber door, not printed onto a flat skin. It holds its definition for the life of the door.

Authentic grain

Monocoque Construction

One solid piece rather than a frame with panels fitted into it. Nothing to separate, nothing to work loose.

65mm solid door

Security Tested To PAS 24

Tested to the standard insurers and building control ask for, with multi-point locking and a 3-star cylinder as standard.

PAS-24 as standard

Genuinely Warm

A solid core insulates far better than a hollow one. You feel it in the hall on a cold Scottish morning.

U-value from 1.0

Sealed Twice Against The Weather

Two seals around the door, one inside and one out, where most doors have one. Built for driving rain off the west coast rather than a still day in a showroom.

Two weather seals

Colour That Holds

Through-coloured, UV-stable finish in heritage and contemporary shades. No repainting, no fading to a chalky grey.

No repainting needed

Palladio, on paper

  • Renolit foil finishA rich, through-coloured foil on the door and on the frame, not paint on the surface. The colour will not fade and there is nothing to repaint.
  • Ten point locking systemA Milenco ten point lock with a 3-star cylinder and four adjustable hinges set into the edge of the door, out of reach from outside.
  • Triple glazed as standardWith matching glass in the side panels. Other composite doors come double glazed only, and most cannot supply side panel glass at all.
  • 12 year guaranteeOn the door itself. All workmanship is guaranteed as well, and the office answers seven days a week.

“Excellent service and communication.”

Excellent service and communication from Ultimate Home Solutions from start to finish. Requested a visit to discuss the supply and fitting of new front and back UPVC doors to our property. Appointment arranged very quickly and Liam arrived to discuss our options and give us background to the Company. There was no pressure from start to finish. Request to think about it overnight was welcomed and I phoned to proceed...

FAQ

Palladio door questions from around Stirling.

Coverage, price, listed frontages, warmth, security, lead times and paying monthly, answered without the sales talk.

Not what you were after?

The phone is answered by somebody who knows the doors rather than a script, seven days a week, and most enquiries get a call back inside the hour.

Call 0800 029 3875
Do you cover Stirling, and is the survey really free?

Both, yes. A surveyor comes to the house anywhere in FK7 or FK8, from the Old Town and Viewforth out to Bannockburn, Cambusbarron and Cowie, and up to Bridge of Allan and Dunblane. Travel is never charged, there is no call-out fee and the quote afterwards costs nothing.

What sort of money is a Palladio door?

There is no list price, because your door is built to the size of your own opening. The design, the colour, the glass and any side panels or top light are what move the figure. Pricing happens once the opening has been measured, and the survey that does it is free. Spread out, it comes to from £22 a week, subject to status, with various deposit options available.

We live up in the Old Town. Are we allowed a Palladio?

Best to check before ordering. The older parts of the town sit inside conservation areas and a lot of the buildings there are listed, so Stirling Council can specify what a front door has to look like. We will say plainly at the survey if we think consent is unlikely. On the post-war and modern housing at Borestone, Broomridge, Chartershall and Raploch it is not normally an issue.

Is it warmer than the door we have now?

Considerably, in most cases. The core is a dense insulating material rather than air, the glass is triple glazed with an argon fill and a warm-edge spacer, and two weather seals close off the gap an older door leaves round the edge. Halls that have always been cold tend to stop being cold.

Why does it cost more than a standard composite door?

Because it is built differently. A standard door is a core with a 2mm skin bonded on that can lift at the edges. A Palladio is a single 65mm reinforced shell with nothing glued to it, a frame foiled to match the door rather than left white, two weather seals in place of one and triple glazing included. We fit standard composite doors as well, so both figures can sit on the same quote and you decide.

Is the locking up to standard?

Palladio doors are tested to PAS 24, the standard insurers and building control ask about. Every one carries a Milenco 10-point locking system, a 3-star cylinder and four adjustable hinges built into the edge of the door, out of reach from outside.

Which designs work on a stone villa?

The Original Collection has 25 and the panelled styles are the ones to look at for a villa in Bridge of Allan or Dunblane: Georgian, Cambridge, Kensington and the like. Side panels and top lights are made to match in colour and glass so a wide original doorway keeps its shape.

And on a modern house?

The Avant Garde collection, 8 designs on the same construction with flat faces, slim vertical glazing and bolder colours. Anthracite grey and black are the usual choices where the windows are already grey.

How long from the order to the fitting?

Made to order in Ireland, so allow 4 to 6 weeks from order to delivery. The fitting takes one working day and your home is locked and weathertight before the installers leave.

Can I pay for it over time?

Yes. We offer Buy Now Pay 12 Months Later, flexible credit up to 24 months, and longer-term flexible credit up to 10 years. The initial eligibility check is a soft search with no impact on your credit score, and gives an instant decision. Ultimate Home Solutions is authorised by the FCA as a credit broker (not a lender).

What is guaranteed?

All workmanship is guaranteed. Trusted installers fit every door and the office answers seven days a week if anything needs seen to.
