Most fitted kitchens in Edinburgh come in between £8,500 and £24,000, fully installed with the old kitchen removed and the plumbing, electrics and worktops included. A compact galley in a Gorgie or Leith flat starts around £6,500; a large open-plan kitchen with an island in a Grange villa or a Barnton new-build with premium appliances can pass £35,000. Every quote is clear, free and yours to keep.
Most Edinburgh kitchens take 10 to 14 working days to fit. Design and planning takes about two weeks and manufacture four to six weeks after sign-off, so the whole project usually runs eight to ten weeks from the first visit. You get the timetable in writing before the old units come out, and a temporary kitchen corner is set up so you can still make a meal.
Usually not for internal work. Replacing a kitchen in a listed New Town, Old Town or Stockbridge property does not normally need listed building consent unless original features are altered, such as removing cornicing or cutting into a shutter box. Where a new extractor has to vent through an external wall we check with the City of Edinburgh Council first and keep it discreet. We have worked in plenty of these flats and know what the conservation officers expect.
Our fitters carry everything up themselves. The stone stair and landing are boarded, dust sheets are taped to the walls, and the stair is cleared every evening. Deliveries are planned in one drop where we can, and if there is a factor or a residents' association we let them know the schedule before day one.
It is ours to sort, not yours. For controlled parking zones we arrange trade permits or visitor parking with the council in advance and plan deliveries around them. Parking has never held up a kitchen in Edinburgh and it will not hold up yours.
Yes, and we fit them for the same labour price. If you would rather we supply them, we offer Bosch, Neff, Siemens, AEG and Miele at trade prices, usually 15 to 25% below the high street, and the designer brings the brochures to your home.
