It is worth planning for. Where a kitchen sits on a north-facing gable or in an older stone house with solid walls, condensation shows up behind units and around the cooker long before anything else does. Your designer checks the extraction, works out where a cooker hood can vent, and we sort the ventilation as part of the job rather than leaving it to an old fan.
Not at all, and it is normal in the older parts of the town. Every wall is measured rather than assumed, the plan is drawn to what is actually there, and the scribes, fillers and end panels are worked out in advance so the finished run looks straight even where the wall is not.
Often, and it is a popular change in the post-war houses at Caol and Upper Achintore where the two rooms sit back to back. What is involved depends on whether the wall is carrying the floor above. We check that at the design visit, and if a beam is needed it goes into the quote rather than appearing halfway through.
Yes. A temporary kitchen with a kettle, a microwave and the fridge is set up in another room before the old units are touched, dust sheets go down, and the fitters clear up at the end of every day.
Either way works. Neff, Bosch, Siemens, AEG and Miele come through us at trade prices, typically 15 to 25% under retail. If you would rather buy them yourself, we fit customer-supplied appliances at no extra labour cost.
