At the Kilmarnock showroom, Block 5, Unit 1, Glencairn Industrial Estate, KA1 4AZ, a short run inland from Prestwick. Doors are open 10am to 5pm every day, there is free parking at the door and you can simply walk in. Working displays, door ranges and worktop samples are all there, with designers on hand.
Figures start from £6,000 for a small galley refit, run £8,000 to £15,000 for a mid-range family kitchen and begin at £20,000 for a large open-plan kitchen with an island. Removal of the old kitchen, plumbing, electrics and worktops sit inside each. The room, the worktop material and the appliances decide the rest, and the quote is clear and free.
Installation takes 10 to 14 working days. Design and planning is around two weeks before that, and manufacture four to six weeks once you approve the 3D plan, so first visit to first meal is typically eight to ten weeks.
Yes, and the earlier we see the drawings the better. On a rear extension the positions of the soil pipe, the boiler flue and the new rooflight decide where the sink and the hob can sensibly go. The designer works from the builder's plans, then re-measures once the shell is watertight so the units are made for the walls as built.
It does come up, and it is easily dealt with. Salt-laden air is harder on metal, so on the seaward side of Prestwick we tend to steer people towards well-finished stainless or coated hardware rather than untreated metals, and towards worktops that shrug off moisture. It is a conversation at the design visit, not a restriction.
Most people do. Before the first day a kettle, a microwave and a fridge are set up somewhere else in the house so you can still make a meal. Dust sheets go down at the start, the fitters vacuum before they leave each afternoon, and the rest of the house stays usable.
