Arbroath House Alarms

A fisher cottage at the harbour and a semi at Warddykes want different things.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new house alarms and CCTV across Arbroath, and every job opens with a free look round the property rather than a guess down the phone. Down in the Fit o' the Toon the houses are packed tight with pends and shared ground between them, the estates at Warddykes, Timmergreens and Hayshead have gardens, sheds and rear gates, and out towards Elliot, Marywell and Arbirlot there are properties with a bit of land and no near neighbour to notice anything. The alarm is a wireless Pyronix Enforcer, so nothing gets chased through old harbourside walls, and it runs from an app.

What We Install

The right system for your home, not the most expensive one.

No two Arbroath properties need the same list. A flat on the High Street might be finished with an alarm and a doorbell camera. A family house at Cliffburn or Whitehills tends to want a camera on the drive and another on the back door. A steading out at Carmyllie or Inverkeilor, with sheds and a long track to the road, is a wider job. What follows explains each part in plain terms, ready for the survey.

Intruder alarms

Built on the PSI award-winning Pyronix Enforcer V11, with door, window and motion sensors that are pet-friendly to avoid false triggers. Choose bells-only, or upgrade to 24/7 professional monitoring so a response is triggered even when you're away.

HD CCTV

Sharp day-and-night cameras with motion recording you can view live from your phone, anywhere. Footage is stored locally or in the cloud, ready if you ever need it.

Video doorbells

See and speak to whoever's at the door from your phone, whether you're upstairs or out of the country. A simple upgrade that catches deliveries and deters chancers.

Monitored response

For full peace of mind, link your system to a 24/7 alarm receiving centre. If it's triggered, keyholders or a response service are alerted straight away, day or night.

“Top class company.”

Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. The qualities of the product were explained and demonstrated and we went ahead. We were delighted with the end product and the lads who done the job were friendly professional and approachable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone and will do so if asked.

“Excellent service and communication.”

Excellent service and communication from Ultimate Home Solutions from start to finish. Requested a visit to discuss the supply and fitting of new front and back UPVC doors to our property. Appointment arranged very quickly and Liam arrived to discuss our options and give us background to the Company. There was no pressure from start to finish. Request to think about it overnight was welcomed and I phoned to proceed...

FAQ

Arbroath alarm questions, answered plainly.

What people in DD11 ask us first, from salt air and old harbour walls to pets, cameras at night, rural steadings, footage and paying by the month.

Not what you were after?

Our phones are answered by security staff rather than a switchboard script. Expect a reply the same hour, whatever day you ring.

Call 0800 029 3875
Do you actually cover Arbroath, or just the central belt?

Arbroath is covered, along with the rest of DD11. Engineers survey in the town from the harbour and Ladyloan to Keptie, Hayshead, Timmergreens, Warddykes and Cliffburn, and out to Auchmithie, St Vigeans, Colliston, Letham, Friockheim, Inverkeilor and Carmyllie. The journey and the call-out are both free.

What sort of money is a house alarm here?

That hangs on the size of the house, the number of openings you want protected, and whether cameras, a video doorbell or 24/7 monitoring go on top. A two-bedroom terrace near the Abbey is a far smaller job than a detached place out at Marywell with a garage and a workshop. The survey and the quote cost nothing, and there is no obligation either way. Various deposit options are available.

Will sea air wreck the outside equipment?

Anywhere on this coast, siting matters. The external siren and any cameras are mounted where they get some shelter from the prevailing weather rather than taking spray head on, and cabling is run and sealed with that in mind. Mention exposure at the survey, especially if the house faces the water, and the engineer will plan around it.

The house is in the old part of town with very thick walls. Any problem?

None for the alarm. The Enforcer system is wireless from end to end, so the panel, keypad, door contacts, movement sensors and outside siren need no cable pulled between rooms. Cameras do need hard wiring for power and data, so those routes are agreed with you first and kept out of sight.

How long are you in the house?

An alarm on its own is usually a single working day. Add cameras and it becomes 1 to 2 days. The waiting happens before that, roughly 2 to 4 weeks from approving the design to the fitting date, while the equipment comes in. Nothing is left unfinished: it is tested and the app is working before we go.

Our cameras would face a dark lane. Is that any use at night?

It is, because the cameras record in colour after dark rather than grey infrared, and colour is what makes a jacket or a vehicle describable. Positions are set for identification at the point somebody approaches, not a wide shot of the top of a head. Where a camera looks towards a neighbour or a public path, privacy masking is applied.

We keep a dog and two cats. Will they trip it?

They should not. Indoor detectors are pet-friendly to avoid false triggers, and the external sensor is pet immune up to 24kg. Say what you have and where they sleep, because that decides where sensors go and how they are set.

We have a steading and a couple of sheds. Can they be covered?

Yes. Camera systems run from 2 up to 16, and properties with outbuildings or a long track often sit between 8 and 16. Outdoor detectors can be added to the alarm for open ground, and cable runs out to a shed or a steading are allowed for in the quote instead of appearing later.

Is paying by the month an option?

Yes. We offer Buy Now Pay 12 Months Later, flexible credit up to 24 months, and longer-term flexible credit up to 10 years. The initial eligibility check is a soft search with no impact on your credit score, and gives an instant decision. Ultimate Home Solutions is authorised by the FCA as a credit broker (not a lender).

Which parts of Arbroath and Angus do you fit in?

The whole of DD11. In town that means the centre, the harbour, Fit o' the Toon, Ladyloan, Keptie, Hayshead, Timmergreens, Warddykes, Cliffburn, Viewfield, Westway, Elliot, Whitehills, Seaton and Marywell, and outside it Arbirlot, Auchmithie, St Vigeans, Colliston, Letham, Friockheim, Inverkeilor, Carmyllie and Redford. The survey is free at all of them.

What if something goes wrong later on?

Ring us. The alarm and camera hardware carries its manufacturer warranty, and all workmanship is guaranteed, which covers the way it was installed, wired and set up. We would rather come back out than leave you with a system you do not trust.

Areas We Cover

All of DD11, from the harbour wall to the Carmyllie road.

Surveys and installations run through Arbroath and the Angus countryside round it all year. There is no travel charge and no call-out fee, whether the house sits in the middle of town or well outside it towards Inverkeilor and Friockheim.
