Ultimate Home Solutions designs, supplies and fits new house alarms, CCTV and video doorbells across Bonnyrigg and Lasswade. EH19 has grown a great deal, and the two halves of it want different things: the older villas and terraces at Broomieknowe, Polton and the High Street sit behind hedges and walls with mature gardens and lanes between them, while the newer estates at Hopefield and Dundas are laid out close together with shared paths, open frontages and driveways in full view. Add a town where a lot of people take the train into Edinburgh each morning and you have houses standing quiet through the day. The panel is wireless, and the system runs from your phone.
Bonnyrigg homes split into two rough camps. A villa at Broomieknowe behind a hedge with a long garden usually wants outdoor detection and cameras that pick up the approach, while a newer house at Hopefield or Dundas with a shared path behind it and a driveway at the front is generally better served by a camera front and back and a doorbell. What each part does is explained below.
[ Intruder alarms ]Built on the PSI award-winning Pyronix Enforcer V11, with door, window and motion sensors that are pet-friendly to avoid false triggers. Choose bells-only, or upgrade to 24/7 professional monitoring so a response is triggered even when you're away.
[ HD CCTV ]Sharp day-and-night cameras with motion recording you can view live from your phone, anywhere. Footage is stored locally or in the cloud, ready if you ever need it.
[ Video doorbells ]See and speak to whoever's at the door from your phone, whether you're upstairs or out of the country. A simple upgrade that catches deliveries and deters chancers.
[ Monitored response ]For full peace of mind, link your system to a 24/7 alarm receiving centre. If it's triggered, keyholders or a response service are alerted straight away, day or night.

What EH19 homeowners ask before ordering: travel, older villas, new estates and shared paths, cost, cameras and neighbours, pets, monitoring, timescales and paying monthly.
No switchboard and no options list: the freephone number reaches the alarm team directly. Nearly every call is returned within the day.
Call 0800 029 3875Regularly. Bonnyrigg, Lasswade, Poltonhall, Hopefield and Broomieknowe are all on the round, along with Eskbank, Dalkeith, Newtongrange, Rosewell, Loanhead and Roslin. Nothing is added for the journey, there is no call-out fee, and the quote after the visit is free.
Both, which is the point of looking at it. The privacy that keeps the house out of view from the road also keeps anybody at the side or the rear out of view of the neighbours, so on that kind of plot the cameras and the outdoor detection matter more than they would on an open street. The engineer will walk the boundary with you and point out where somebody would actually come from.
Then the pairing that works is a camera on the rear elevation and a wireless outdoor sensor watching the gate. That sensor reads 12m across a 90 degree arc and sets the siren going while somebody is still at the boundary. Neighbouring gardens and the path itself are masked out of the camera view, so they are never recorded.
The building decides it. External doors and ground floor windows wanting sensors, the size of the house, whether a garage comes into it, and whether cameras, a video doorbell or 24/7 monitoring are added. A two-bedroom house at Poltonhall is a much smaller job than a villa at Broomieknowe with a garden room. The survey is free and there is no obligation on the quote. Various deposit options are available.
Then the alerts matter as much as the siren. The app tells you the instant anything trips, wherever you are, and a camera at the front gives you a picture rather than a guess. Everyone you add as a user gets the app on their own phone, so whoever is nearest can act.
It will not. Any neighbouring property and any public footpath is masked out of the picture before handover, which is both a courtesy and a data protection requirement. The coverage is shown to you before a single bracket goes up.
Not an obstacle. Indoor detectors are pet-friendly, which is what stops household movement causing false alarms, and the outdoor sensor is pet immune up to 24kg. Say where the cats go at the survey and the detectors are placed around them.
If somebody is usually about, or the street is busy, a bells-only system with app alerts often does everything you need. If the house is empty for long periods, an alarm receiving centre staffed 24 hours a day will contact keyholders or a response service the moment it triggers. We explain the difference and the cost at the survey, and there is no pressure either way.
One working day covers most alarms, and one to two where cameras are going in as well. Before that, allow roughly 2 to 4 weeks from approving the design while the kit is ordered and a fitting date is set. The system is tested and the app is set up with you before anybody packs away.
