Roughcast is a course exterior wall surfacing used to cover brickwork or unfaced stonework. There are two distinct application methods, firstly ‘pebbledash’ is to coat the wall with cement then throw the coating substrate at the wall evenly. The other ‘roughcasting’ is where stoned are pre mixed with the cement prior to application.
This is a popular wall decoration throughout Scotland.
There are a wide range of materials to coat buildings with in this way, like shell dash & spar dash among others. Each material usually is available in a range of colours, so whether repairing sections to match existing work, or to merge with current styling you will always have a good selection to choose from.
