No. The finish is made for coastal weather: it resists rain, salt, freeze-thaw and grime, and because it is hydrophobic the salt water never gets the chance to soak in. On the exposed side of a house near the esplanade or out at Doonfoot, that is the wall where a coating earns its money.
Almost certainly not. Loose material is cut back, hollow patches are made good and cracks are filled and blended before a drop of coating goes on, because coating over failed roughcast is money thrown away. If an elevation really is too far gone, the surveyor will say so at the visit and explain what it needs instead.
Where rain is driving through the wall, which is penetrating damp, a hydrophobic coating typically cures it, and a seaward gable is the classic case. Rising damp and condensation are different problems with different fixes, and a coating only helps alongside them. The surveyor works out which one you have before suggesting anything.

South Ayrshire has conservation areas including Alloway and parts of central Ayr, with listed buildings scattered through them, so the outside of a house can be looked at closely. South Ayrshire Council planning will tell you where you stand, and we supply whatever product information they want to see. If a coating is wrong for the building, the surveyor will say so.
