“Very good job done on our home.”
Very good job done on our home. Exterior wall coating by Properla applied by excellent applicators. Can strongly recommend on every aspect.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new exterior wall coatings across Glasgow, starting with a free wall survey and a clear quote. So much of the city is roughcast or pebbledash: the four-in-a-block flats of Knightswood, Mosspark and Carntyne, the interwar bungalows of King's Park and Croftfoot, and the post-war semis of Bishopbriggs and Cardonald. Decades of rain blowing in off the Clyde leave those walls grey, green on the north side and damp to the touch. We power-wash them, repair the cracks and apply a breathable, water-shedding coating in the colour you choose, with all workmanship guaranteed.
Glasgow walls take a great deal of rain, and ordinary masonry paint traps that water inside the wall. A breathable coating such as ProPerla lets the wall dry out while the rain runs off the face of it, which is exactly what a roughcast semi in Cardonald or a rendered gable in Maryhill needs.
[ Breathable, not sealed ]The coating lets water vapour escape from inside the wall, so trapped damp dries out instead of blowing the render off. Microporous, just like the wall wants to be.
[ Hydrophobic finish ]Rain beads up and runs straight off rather than soaking in. A dry wall is a warmer wall, and it stops the freeze-thaw cracking that wrecks Scottish render.
[ A warmer home ]A wet wall loses far more heat than a dry one. Keeping rainwater out of the masonry cuts heat loss through the walls and helps take the edge off your energy bills.
[ Self-cleaning ]Dirt, algae and the green film that creeps up north-facing walls can't grip the surface, so the rain washes them away. The wall stays looking freshly done for years.
[ Any colour, fade-resistant ]Choose from the full RAL range. The pigment is locked into the coating so it holds its colour through UV and weathering, and all workmanship is guaranteed.
[ Surfaces we coat ]Pebbledash, roughcast, smooth and textured render, brick and stone. We power-wash, repair cracks and re-point first, so the coating goes onto a sound surface.
Very good job done on our home. Exterior wall coating by Properla applied by excellent applicators. Can strongly recommend on every aspect.
Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. The qualities of the product were explained and demonstrated and we went ahead. We were delighted with the end product and the lads who done the job were friendly professional and approachable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone and will do so if asked.
I loved the experience. The finished product was far beyond my expectations and the workload was quickly carried out and completed. The workers when they arrived were polite and maintained high quality standards. Further, they ensured the mess they made was cleaned up at the end of each day. Overall, I would highly recommend this service to others as the business is very professional.

What people around the city ask before they book a survey, from cost and damp to four-in-a-block flats, colour choice and how long the scaffolding stays up.
Phone and you will speak to someone who knows render and roughcast, not a call handler reading a script. Most calls are answered inside the hour, every day of the week.
Call 0800 029 3875Most full-house coatings come in between £3,500 and £8,500, applied, and that covers the scaffolding, the power-wash, crack and render repairs, primer, base coat and top coat. A large detached house in Newton Mearns or Bearsden can run to £14,000 or more. The survey is free anywhere in the city, the quote is clear and carries no obligation, and various deposit options are available.
We can coat the walls that belong to your flat, and we do it often in places like Knightswood, Mosspark and Carntyne. The finish looks best when the whole block is done together, so it is worth a word with your neighbours first, and worth checking your title deeds for anything about the outside walls. If the owners agree, we survey the full building and quote for each flat.
That is what it is made for. The finish is hydrophobic, so rain beads on the surface and runs away instead of soaking into the roughcast. A wall that stays dry is a warmer wall, and it is spared the freeze and thaw that cracks render in a Scottish winter.
It makes a big difference. Dirt, algae and the green film that builds up on shaded walls struggle to grip the coated surface, so ordinary rainfall washes most of it off. Before anything is applied we power-wash the walls, so the coating goes onto clean masonry.
Most homes are finished in 3 to 7 working days, weather permitting. The first day is the power-wash and repairs, and the primer and coats follow over the next few days. The scaffolding is there for the length of the job and comes down once we have walked round the finished walls with you.
It depends on the cause. If rain is getting in through the walls, which is called penetrating damp, a hydrophobic coating typically cures it. If the problem is rising damp or condensation, a coating helps but will not fix it alone. The surveyor works out the cause first and will tell you straight if a coating is not the answer.
Any RAL colour. The surveyor brings colour samples to your home, and on request we apply a small test area to your own wall so you can see it in daylight before you decide. The pigment is part of the coating, so it holds its colour through sun and weather.

Often, yes, though you should ask first. Glasgow has a number of conservation areas and many listed buildings, and the council may want a say on changes to the outside of a house, a change of colour above all. Check with Glasgow City Council planning before you commit, and we will supply the product details your enquiry needs.
Yes. You will find us inside Dobbies Garden Centre at Braehead (75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfrew, G51 4FB) between 10am and 5pm on any day of the week. You can pick up colour samples there and talk your house through with the team. The survey itself always happens at your home, because the walls are what we need to see.
All of them, G1 to G78: the West End, the Southside, the East End and the north of the city, plus Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Giffnock, Newton Mearns, Clydebank and Renfrew. There is no call-out fee for a survey on any of them.
Surveyors and coating crews are out across the city and its suburbs every week. Wall surveys are free, with no call-out fee, from G1 in the centre to G78 out at Barrhead.
Area missing from the list? We coat homes in every Glasgow postcode, G1 to G78, and in the towns on the edge of the city. Send us your G1 postcode and we will arrange a free wall survey on a day that suits you.
