Double Glazing
in Ayr,
fitted by a team up the road.

It comes down to the number of openings, the style, the frame finish and the glass. Six casements on a Kincaidston semi is a very different job from a Racecourse Road villa with sashes and a two storey bay. uPVC is the keener price, timber-effect costs more. The survey is free and the quote afterwards is clear and carries no obligation. Various deposit options are available.

Kilmarnock, at Block 5, Unit 1, Glencairn Industrial Estate, KA1 4AZ, open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday with parking at the door, Sundays by appointment. The window and door displays themselves are at our Glasgow showroom inside Dobbies at Braehead, 75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfrew. Either way the surveyor brings frame sections and glass samples to your house.

It changes the hardware more than the frames. uPVC and timber-effect finishes shrug off salt air and never want painting. Handles, hinges and locks are what corrode over the years on an exposed frontage, so near the front at Doonfoot or Seafield we specify a more robust finish on them. Say how close you are and the surveyor will allow for it.

Often yes, but check first. Ayr has conservation areas covering parts of the town centre and Alloway, and a number of buildings are listed, so South Ayrshire Council may want to approve the material and the glazing pattern on a street elevation. Our sliding sash and flush casement styles are designed for period frontages and we can give you the product details for an application.

Not necessarily. Cloudy glass means that unit has lost its seal, and if the frame, hinges and locks are still in good order the unit alone can be changed. Our window repairs service does that. Where the frames themselves are past it the whole window is the better answer, and the surveyor will tell you honestly which applies.

Yes. New sealed units are a good deal quieter than old glazing with worn seals, and where a house sits near the A77, the A79 or under the approach to Prestwick Airport we can fit acoustic glass, which uses thicker laminated panes to absorb more of the sound before it reaches the room.

Your windows are made to the sizes taken at your house, so allow roughly 5 to 7 weeks from signing off the order. Fitting is the quick part: most Ayr homes are done in 1 to 3 working days, and the house is never left open to the weather overnight.

White, cream, black, anthracite grey, agate grey and Chartwell green are the core colours, with woodgrain foils on top of that, and a dual colour frame lets you have one shade outside and another in the room. The surveyor brings the swatches so you can hold them against your own render or sandstone.
