“Fitted within 4 weeks from ordering.”
Great experience 5* from beginning to end. I had new windows fitted & a new front door really happy with the whole process & fitted within 4 weeks from ordering. Would definitely use again.

Ultimate Home Solutions supplies and fits new double glazed windows in Castle Douglas and the DG7 villages around it, in uPVC and timber-effect frames, beginning with a free survey at your own house. The town was laid out as a grid, so King Street, St Andrew Street and Queen Street carry long runs of two and three storey property with flats above the shops and tall sash openings on the upper floors. Away from the grid there are granite and whitewashed cottages towards Gelston and Rhonehouse, and post-war bungalows along Abercromby Road and down by Carlingwark. Galloway winters are more wet than freezing, which is why misted units and damp, draughty frames are what most people here phone about. Vetted installers carry out the work and all workmanship is guaranteed.

What people around the town ask before ordering: which villages we reach, misted units, damp and condensation, conservation rules in the town centre, flats above shops, lead times and paying monthly.
Ring the freephone number and you will get somebody who fits windows for a living rather than an operator reading from a card.
Call 0800 029 3875Yes. The whole of DG7 is covered, from the grid of streets in the town out to Crossmichael, Haugh of Urr, Springholm, Kirkpatrick Durham, Laurieston and Parton, and across to Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright. A surveyor comes to the house, there is nothing to pay for the visit or the journey, and the quote that follows leaves the decision entirely with you.
It depends on the number of openings, the styles you settle on, the finish of the frames and the glass you choose. A cottage with four small windows is a world away from a three storey house on King Street. The survey is free, the quote is clear and it comes with no obligation attached. Various deposit options are available.
A cloudy or misted pane means the seal round the sealed unit has failed and moisture has got between the panes, so the insulating gas has gone with it. Sometimes the unit alone can be changed if the frame and the hardware are still sound. Where the frames are twenty-odd years old and stiff or draughty as well, replacing the window outright usually makes better sense, and the surveyor will tell you which case yours is.
It changes what matters most. Damp air and mild wet spells put the emphasis on tight seals, good drainage through the frame and warm glass edges rather than on extreme insulation. uPVC will not soak, swell or rot in that climate, and a timber-effect finish gives you the look of painted wood without a brush ever going near it.
They can. Upper flats on the main streets usually have tall openings that were built for vertical sliders, and sliding sash windows replace them without changing the proportions of the frontage. Access is planned with you beforehand so the close, the stair and the pavement below stay clear while the work is on.
It can mean the council wants a say in the style, the material and the way the window opens, and listed buildings have tighter rules again. Check with Dumfries and Galloway Council before you order anything, and we will supply the product details and drawings they ask to see. Our sash and flush casement ranges are designed for exactly this kind of property.
Nearly always, yes. Astragal and Georgian bar layouts can be built into the new windows so the pattern across the front of the house carries on as it was. The surveyor will photograph and measure what is there now, and you can see the bar options and their widths at the visit.
Reckon on roughly 5 to 7 weeks between approving the order and the fitting day, because every frame is made to the sizes taken at your survey. The fitting is the short part, at 1 to 3 working days for most houses, and the old frames and glass are lifted out and taken away.
