“Windows done, lovely job.”
Windows done lovely job. Fitters fantastic. No complaints from start to finish. Would recommended to anyone.

Ultimate Home Solutions surveys, supplies and fits new double glazed windows across Stranraer and the Rhins, in uPVC and timber-effect frames, and no charge is made for the journey. Wind runs the length of Loch Ryan and arrives at the town with nothing to slow it, which is why so many houses here have a sash that whistles or a casement that drums in a gale. The stone frontages near George Street and Charlotte Street have tall, tired openings, the semis at Sheuchan, Belmont and Ochtrelure are mostly on glazing that went in decades ago, and the bungalows along the Leswalt Road look straight out at the water. Sizes are taken opening by opening, the frames are reinforced and twin sealed, and installers we vet are finished in 1 to 3 working days with all workmanship guaranteed.

I was very well impressed from stat to finish with ultimate home solutions. I had Henry the sales for the double glazing and his advice was second to none and thank goodness for my windows look beautiful. The company that installed them were very professional and very clean workers. I would highly recommend this company and will use them in future for any further projects.
Having recently had our bathroom fitted by UHS, we were blown away by the quality and service so it was an easy decision to have UHS replace two of our windows. From the initial consultation through to booking the installation and the installation itself, it was a smooth process and everyone was super friendly and helpful. The fitters were efficient and were done in no time, taking time to clean up and make sure we...

It rests on how many openings there are, which style you go for, the frame finish and the glass. Five casements on a Sheuchan semi is nowhere near a full house of sashes in one of the older stone terraces. uPVC is the value option, timber-effect is dearer. The quote is set out plainly and ties you to nothing. Various deposit options are available.
They are built with that in mind. The frames are reinforced, each opening sash closes against two weather seals, and the multi-point lock pulls the sash tight into the frame at several points rather than one. That is what puts a stop to the whistle and the rattle when it blows hard.
Nothing much. uPVC and timber-effect finishes do not rot and do not need repainting, and they wash down with soapy water. Salt does work away at hardware over time, so on exposed addresses we specify handles, hinges and locks with a tougher finish. Mention how close to the shore you are.
It is. The whistle is air getting past worn seals and loose sash boxes, and a modern sliding sash keeps the look of the original while sealing on both sides. If the frames are still sound the surveyor will say so, because sometimes it is only the units that need attention.
That is a failed sealed unit and it will not clear. Where the frames and hardware are fine, the unit on its own can be replaced, which our window repairs service handles. Where the whole window is tired, replacement is the better use of the money. The survey settles it either way.
Yes, plenty of people do it that way. The survey covers the whole house so you know the full picture, and the quote can be split so you can take the worst elevation first. Nothing has to be ordered all at once.
About 5 to 7 weeks between agreeing the order and fitting day, since each frame is made to your sizes. On site it is 1 to 3 working days for most houses, and the place is left wind and watertight every evening.
