Glenrothes Home Security

Precinct terraces, rear paths and open front gardens, each covered differently.

Ultimate Home Solutions plans, supplies and fits new house alarms and cameras for homes all over Glenrothes, beginning with a free survey at your door. The town went up precinct by precinct, so a great many houses in Woodside, Auchmuty, Tanshall and Pitteuchar sit in groups around greens and parking courts, with a path running along the back of the terrace and no fence line facing the road at all. Newer streets at Collydean, Pitcoudie and Formonthills, and the villages at Markinch, Leslie, Thornton and Kinglassie, are laid out quite differently again. That is the reason an engineer looks at the property itself before recommending anything. The panel is a wireless Pyronix Enforcer V11, so the fitting is quick and tidy, and the alarm is set and unset from an app.

What We Install

The right system for your home, not the most expensive one.

A Glenrothes security system is put together to suit the property. A flat near the town centre is often fine with the alarm and a doorbell answered on the phone. A terrace in Macedonia or Rimbleton with a path along the back tends to benefit from an outdoor sensor. A detached house at Balgeddie or Formonthills, or a cottage out at Star or Coaltown of Balgonie, usually wants several cameras. What follows explains each part in plain terms.

Intruder alarms

Built on the PSI award-winning Pyronix Enforcer V11, with door, window and motion sensors that are pet-friendly to avoid false triggers. Choose bells-only, or upgrade to 24/7 professional monitoring so a response is triggered even when you're away.

HD CCTV

Sharp day-and-night cameras with motion recording you can view live from your phone, anywhere. Footage is stored locally or in the cloud, ready if you ever need it.

Video doorbells

See and speak to whoever's at the door from your phone, whether you're upstairs or out of the country. A simple upgrade that catches deliveries and deters chancers.

Monitored response

For full peace of mind, link your system to a 24/7 alarm receiving centre. If it's triggered, keyholders or a response service are alerted straight away, day or night.

We come to you

The survey happens in the house the system is going into.

FAQ

Glenrothes house alarm questions, answered.

What KY6 and KY7 households ask first: travel charges, precinct layouts and rear paths, pets, cameras and privacy, broadband, monitoring, storage and paying monthly.

Not what you were after?

No automated menus here. A call goes through to somebody who can talk about sensors and cameras, and we ring most people back the same hour.

Call 0800 029 3875
Is Glenrothes too far out for you to come to?

Not in the least. We install right across Scotland, with free home surveys and no postcodes left off the map. An engineer will come to any address in KY6 or KY7, from Auchmuty and Woodside to Collydean and Balgeddie, and out to Markinch, Leslie, Thornton and Kinglassie. Nothing is charged for the journey or the call-out.

How is the price of a system decided?

It follows from what is being protected. How large the house is, how many doors and windows want a sensor, whether a garage or outbuilding is included, and whether cameras, a video doorbell or 24/7 monitoring are added. A two-bedroom terrace in Tanshall needs far less equipment than a detached house at Balfarg. The quote comes after the survey and is free with no obligation. Various deposit options are available.

Our terrace has a footpath along the back and parking in a court. What would you suggest?

Usually a camera or an external sensor covering the rear, because that is the side nobody overlooks. The wireless external sensor reads movement over 12 metres across a 90 degree spread and is pet immune up to 24kg, so it can trigger the alarm well before the back door is reached. At the front, where the car sits away from the house, a video doorbell lets you see and speak to callers from your phone.

Does fitting mean cables and mess through the house?

No. The Enforcer system is wireless from panel to siren, so the keypad, the door and window sensors, the movement detectors and the outside sounder all talk to one another without a cable between them. Door sensors pair with a single push. Only the cameras are hard-wired, for power and data, and those runs are planned with you so they are kept out of sight.

Will the dog trip the alarm?

It is unlikely. Indoor detectors are made with pet immunity so ordinary movement around the house at floor level does not set them going, and the outdoor sensor ignores animals up to 24kg. Tell the engineer about the dog at the survey so heights and sensitivity are set accordingly.

How long from ordering to a working system?

Count on about 2 to 4 weeks from the point the design is signed off, which is the equipment being ordered and a fitting date coming round. The work on site is normally a single day for an alarm and 1 to 2 days once cameras are part of it. Everything is tested and the app is set up before the engineer leaves.

Can a camera watch the rear path without recording the neighbours?

Yes. Positions are chosen so the camera looks over your own ground, and privacy masking blacks out any neighbouring garden or shared path that would otherwise be in frame. The engineer walks the boundary with you and marks up where each camera goes before a single bracket is fixed.

Do I need broadband to use the app and see the cameras?

For live viewing and alerts on your phone, yes, the property needs a broadband connection. If the line drops the recorder carries on capturing footage locally, and remote access returns as soon as the connection does. Footage is held on a recorder inside the house, with cloud backup available if you want it.

Can the payments be spread?

Yes. We offer Buy Now Pay 12 Months Later, flexible credit up to 24 months, and longer-term flexible credit up to 10 years. The initial eligibility check is a soft search with no impact on your credit score, and gives an instant decision. Ultimate Home Solutions is authorised by the FCA as a credit broker (not a lender).

Which parts of Glenrothes and the villages do you cover?

The whole of KY6 and KY7: the town centre, Auchmuty, Woodside, Rimbleton, South Parks, Macedonia, Tanshall, Caskieberran, Newcastle, Cadham, Pitteuchar, Stenton, Finglassie, Collydean, Pitcoudie, Balfarg, Balgeddie, Formonthills and Glenwood. Markinch, Leslie, Thornton, Kinglassie, Coaltown of Balgonie, Star and Falkland are covered too, with no travel charge anywhere on that list.

What cover is there if the equipment fails?

Two separate things stand behind it. The panel, sensors and cameras come with their manufacturer warranty, and all workmanship is guaranteed, which is the fitting, the wiring and the programming. If a part misbehaves, call us and we will get it sorted.

Areas We Cover

Every precinct in KY6 and KY7, plus the villages beyond.

Engineers are out in Fife every week and nothing is added for the journey. That covers KY6 through Woodside, Auchmuty and Cadham, KY7 out at Pitteuchar, Collydean and Balfarg, and the villages at Markinch, Leslie, Thornton and Kinglassie.
